As I write this contribution the sun is shining and the temperature rising, which hopefully foretells a glorious Bank Holiday weekend.
Our major industry, hospitality, has been battered by Government actions – the hike in National Insurance contributions and a rise in the national minimum wage to name but two.
We have a government with no understanding of business, or indeed empathy. Their policies are like a malignancy slowly drawing the lifeblood out of the productive sector.
Given their huge majority, the Labour Party will be in power until 2029. Looking at their back record, the omens are not good.
So what can we Conservatives do? Next year there are important local elections. We need people to consider standing as Conservative candidates. You will have received my earlier invitation on this subject. Also please support for our fundraising events when you can.
The leadership of this branch will confront our political opponents when we judge their actions to be detrimental to Skegness.
