At a meeting of the Skegness Conservative Men’s Branch Committee held on Monday, January 9, 1967, the secretary, Mr John Hoyles, reported on the men’s annual supper when the guest speaker had been former Prime Minister Sir Alec Douglas-Home. The event, at the Imperial Cafe, had enjoyed one of the best attendances for many years, with 252 suppers being served.
