In an unstable world, with countries such as Russia, China and Iran being increasingly aggressive, a secure supply of home-produced food becomes ever more important for the United Kingdom.
But the fact is that domestic food production is in decline. How can this be reversed? And what part does Lincolnshire farming have to play in this?
The Skegness Conservative Policy Forum Group is addressing this problem by organising a special meeting at the North Shore Hotel, Skegness, on Thursday, October 22, at 7.30pm.
The discussion will be led by Cllr Steve Kirk, East Lindsey District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Coastal Economy, who has produced a wide-ranging report entitled: “The Future Food Security of the United Kingdom”, sub-titled “Why the nation’s food security depends on defending the Lincolnshire coast”.
Everyone is invited to come along to this meeting, whether or not they are a member of the Conservative Party. Invitations are being sent out to Constituencies throughout Lincolnshire.
It’s your chance to take part in a debate which has crucial implications for our nation.
If you are interested in coming along, please contact Skegness Conservative Policy Forum Group chairman, John Cowpe, on [email protected], tel 01754 762826, mob 01519174413.
