The possibility of a new Conservative Club being established in the town was discussed at the Skegness Conservative Men’s Branch committee meeting on July 21, 1969. This followed the closure of the previous club on South Parade. It was considered that a viable proposition could be developing “The Red House”, a derelict property in Scarbrough Avenue. It was stated that “one or two local businessmen” would not be averse to investing in such a scheme. Unfortunately the plan never came to fruition.
