Rising costs were proving to be a problem for the Skegness Conservative Men’s Supper Club in 1975. The convenor, Mr Alan Archer, reported to the Men’s Branch committee that The Vine Hotel had raised its charge for the suppers to £1.50 per head. The County Hotel had also offered a price of £1.50. But the members decided to accept an offer from the Crown Hotel for £1 per head.
Earlier in the year the committee had agreed to spend £5 on a wedding present for the Member of Parliament Mr Peter Tapsell.
