A new structure for Skegness Conservatives was set up in 1974 with the formation of new North and South Ward Branches in addition to the existing Men’s and Ladies’ Branches. At the inaugural meeting of the Skegness Conservative South Ward Branch held at the Crown Hotel on July 29, 1974, the following officers were elected: chairman, Mr David Cronne; vice-chairman, Mrs Patricia Preston; secretary, Mr John Cowpe; treasurer, Mr Adrian Preston; assistant secretary, Mrs Wendy Cowpe; assistant treasurer, Mrs Win Bridges
