At the Skegness Conservative Men’s Branch committee meeting held at the Crown Hotel on July 8, 1974, the chairman, Cllr Denys Hudson, reported that the Ladies’ Branch had rejected the proposal to set up joint ward branches in the town. However, the Association Executive Council had given its authority for such branches to be formed. The Men’s Branch Committee therefore agreed that North and South Ward Branches should be established. Mr Ron Williams would act as convenor in the North Ward and Mr Bill Derbyshire as convenor in the South Ward.
