At the Skegness Conservative Men’s Branch committee meeting held on September 24, 1973, members were told that the Skegness Ladies’ Branch had rejected the idea of a joint committee with the Men’s Branch. The committee also adopted a proposal that branch officers should be rotated so that no one stayed in the same office for more than two years in succession. Cllr Denys Hudson had proposed the idea, pointing out that the branch had had only two chairmen in about 20 years.

Members welcomed a new committee member, Mr John Cowpe
